Yumi's Cells

 

I just finished watching Yumi's Cells and the writer cell in me resurrected hehehe. 

SPOILER ALERT, SPOILERS AHEAD

The Cells

I enjoyed how the cells of Yumi and Woong were depicted. Reason cell and emotion cell are always in negotiation with each other, when you think about it, yeah, they'll be talking and talking in my brain.  

The cells also have their own characteristics and it varies in each person. The reason cell of Yumi keeps the other cells in check, has a positive, at times crazy and determined aura while the reason cell in Woong is the lead in his AI (with all the algorithms) and is kind of a worrier, not so detail-oriented (hehe). But his algorithms are efficient I must say.

The love cells of both main characters really care for and love Yumi and Woong. They really worked hard for WooMi's kilig scenes you know.

The chore cell of Yumi likes to rest HAHAHAHA so many funny scenes with chore cell (laundry kick!) while in Woong's world although he has no chore cell his AI is soooo organized he tidied up Yumi's place even arranging her books alphabetically (library yern?).  

Lust and lustsaurus also nailed their roles, just the thought of them makes me laugh. We all have one, just hidden (or not? hehehe)

Emotion cell? Especially her lability,  that noraebang scene, and replaying all the memories scene waking up all the cells, throwing all the bean bags on the gourd ON POINT!

 I also loved the baegopa of hunger cell, King Sullen and system partitioning of stomach cell.

                 

It made me realize that we all have different "cells" with different "personalities" in our brains that make "us", us. 

WooMi

WooMi gave me a feel of the rawness of being in a relationship. Their meeting, hopes, happiness, sadness, frustrations, arguments (as petty as they can be) and parting is very natural. I loved how Go eun and Bo hyun made the characters come to life.

5 stars for the actresses who played Ruby and Saeyi, everytime they annoy Yumi my emotion cell is also at RAGE MODE. Saeyi planting those toxic doubt flowers in Yumi's mind and that episode 9, episode9!!!! I'll leave it here, my emotion cell might go berserk.

Bestfriend award goes to Louis who is always there for Woong not afraid to slap him with advice for his own good.  

Bobby so good looking and gentle, good job Jinyoung.  The jacket scene tho, and the female Bobby scene 🤣 Looking forward to more Bobby scenes in season 2!!!!

I hope I'll see more of the cells of the other casts (not just the leads) in season 2. 

Permission to dance: on stage online concert

It seems like my "writer cell" is having a blast today hehe (See Yumi Cells post for reference) Again credits to the owners of the photos used in this post

But this post will be so random because fangirl heart can't contain the excitement and joy and AHHHHH.

2018, I was introduced by my bff to BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan/ 방탄소년단 ) and my life changed since then. 

Last October 24, BTS had their PTD Online Concert, I must say that despite their manyyy merch release, Bangtantv posts, I can't simply get over it.

They performed stages from different eras, Love yourself, PTD, Young Forever, Wings etc. I don't know how did they get the stamina to perform that setlist. They keep saying that they can't keep up, but I'm telling you BTS, I'm one serious type but it had me singing, cheering, and waving my lightstick.

I was amazed by their Black Swan stage, the introoooo, the members transforming to swans, the dancers as their wings, it's so satisfying to watch. Followed by Blood Sweat & Tears , then Fake loveee, and the outfits of Jungkook and Jimin got me ☠️. 

Spring day and Permission to Dance sent in memories of the old times, waiting for the pandemic to end.

Young Forever encapsulates the passion of BTS as performers, we all know that fame doesn't last forever and they want to be young forever to preserve all those memories they had onstage with ARMYs. This performance warmed my heart. (Don't worry, ARMYs will be here for you)

  

                                                         

RM looked good with his undercut. J-hope's energy is contagious(I hope he could hear Armys saying HOOOPPEEEE live soon). Yoongi's smirk and rap parts 💣.  Jin is so cute during their encore with his green bow. Tae despite his injured calf muscle still delivered.  Jimin your charm, moves, sudden playing around, and fluffy hat got me smiling the whole time. Jungkook your performance, vocal, mint-colored hair, shades, outfit, and "I'd rather die than live without passion" left me processing this PTD con up until now.

They really sang and danced their hearts out for us to feel the concert vibe through our screens. 

During their encore stage, each member poured their hearts out, including their sadness and frustration regarding the pandemic situation. Tae said that they challenged themselves by preparing all group performances in this concert, however, he was disappointed that a day before the concert the doctor told him it's better to rest his leg. The boys really missed performing with ARMYs.  I appreciated their honesty, during this part of the concert, I feel reassured, we all feel the same way regarding this pandemic.

 BORAHAE BTS, I wish you can also feel the happiness you are always bringing in our hearts 💜

A not so typical review of 100 na tula para kay stella

100 tula para kay stella is a film entry for Pista ng Pelikulang Filipino from Aug 16 to Aug 22. This story is comparable to 500 days of summer but with "deeper substance" to it.
The first part of the film is light with all the butterflies and kilig. But the second part when Fidel went to Manila for me is the start of the real story.

 I didn't feel the "sayang di sila nagkatuluyan" vibe at the end more of "sayang hindi sila nagkakilanlan" because there is so much more to Stella than a perfect heroine girl in Fidel's poems that he failed to see simply because he was not physically present for her and he's too engrossed with his poems. Fear and his speech defect crippled him and he did not took the risk to admit his feelings and get to know her deeper.

On the other hand, Stella too afraid to drag Fidel downhill failed to see the potential of their blossoming relationship. Maybe they are not meant for each other. Cliche as may it sound, maybe love aint just enough.

The relationship of Stella and Von developed faster than I expected but no objections to it because Von is the guy who really knows Stella.Remember the scene at the pool party? He is the guy who knows the true Stella. He knows what she needs and acts on it.

A striking scene for me is runaway Stella walking in the rain came across Von but called Fidel's name is like Stella saying "Sana si Fidel na lang yung nakakaintindi sa akin hanggang ngayon." It broke my heart.

Another side of the film is what are you willing to risk  for your dream and are those worth the risk?

 Questions pop in my head in the whole movie, do I really understand people or do I modify my understanding to what I want to hear? do I just easily let go of things, of opportunities?

I was randomly browsing for "sensible" youtube videos until I came into a video of 4th power.

The 4th Power

Their talent is realllyyyy superb! Dancing that tiring dance routine and reaching those high notes at the same time made Xfactor UK judges and audience dancing, singing, clapping on their feet. I am awed with their performances that I found myself endlessly searching for their youtube videos(please please make moreee videos..:)).

 Their story really touched and inspired to to continue to dream and to strive for it, to reach it. Whenever they perform I can feel that they're really giving their 200%, and that is dreaming is all about. As one of their members said in one of the interviews in the Philippines, they didn't have a warm crowd at first, there are times that they were just passed by people in the casino while they are giving their all in their performance but look at them now, they just strike a pose and the Xfactor UK crowd goes wild.

I really admire these girls' talent moreso,

their drive, their spirit and their will to reach for their dream.

Dream on, 4th power!Kudos!
