Contact lenses are used for eye-correction or cosmetic purposes aka. "for that twinkle in your eyes."
I find wearing contact lenses more comfortable than wearing eyeglasses because appreciate the full field corrected vision. Also, in a way it doesn't limit my movements. I remembered when my optometrist told me a punchline " Ayan nalinawan na ang buhay mo."
I learned that care must be provided when applying, removing, wearing and even storing your lenses. There are tons Youtube videos talking about correct application and removal of these and sometimes they are a bit confusing.
Here are two videos that I find accurate and very helpful:
For applying contact lenses:
- First, wash your hands, and when you’re done, make sure they’re clean and dry.
- Using the hand you write with, hold the lens on the tip of your pointer finger.
- With your middle finger on the same hand, pull your lower eyelid down. At the same time, use your pointer finger on your other hand to pull your top lid up.
- Look up.
- Gently place the lens on the lower white part of your eye.
- Remove your pointer finger, and let go of your eyelid.
- Close your eyes for a second. The lens will center on your eye.
- Repeat these steps for the other lens.
Removing contact lenses:
- First, wash your hands, and when you’re done, make sure they’re clean and dry.
- Look up and pull your lower eyelid down with the middle finger of the hand you write with.
- Put your index finger on the lower part of the lens.
- Slide the lens down into the white part of your eye.
- Squeeze the lens gently between your pointer finger and thumb and carefully remove it.
- Repeat these steps for the other lens.

Take note of your replacement schedule and follow it. My optometrist recommended using disposable lenses than the extended wear lenses because the former is more hygienic than the other. Always remember NEVER use water to wash your lenses. Surprisingly wearing contacts is more cheaper than wearing glasses(in my case).
Enjoy your "full-field" corrected vision! :)
